JAIPUR is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan in Northern India. It has a population of more than 3 million people.


Jaipur is located 260 km from the Indian capital New Delhi. The city is a popular tourist destination in India and is a part of the west Golden Triangle tourist circuit along with Agra (240 km) and New Delhi.


Jaipur is known as the Pink City because of the pink walls and buildings of the old city.

The most popular city's attractions are the ancient palaces and forts, with elaborate architecture that serves as a reminder of their royal heritage.



Places worth visiting:



  • Hawa Mahal / Palace of the Winds /

This is Jaipur's most recognized building and city's landmark. Constructed in 1799, it has five floors that contain rows of small windows and screens. Wind used to flow through the openings, giving the palace its name. However, the wind has now gone from the Wind Palace as most of the windows have been sealed shut. A panoramic view can be observed from the top of the building.





  • The City Palace

The City Palace is a palace complex which includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and is situated in the core of the Pink City Jaipur.

It was the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, the head of the Kachwaha Rajput clan.

The palace was built between 1729 and 1732, initially by Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber.

The beautiful complex comprising numerous edifices, vast courtyards and attractive gardens, is a souvenir of the majestic history.

The Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal are some of the significant structures in the complex. The Chandra Mahal palace now houses a museum, but the greatest part of it is still a royal residence.

To witness the beauty of the palace, thousands of visitors from across the world visit the City Palace every year.





  • Jantar Mantar Observatory

Jantar Mantar Observatory was built by King Jai Singh II between 1727 and 1734, literally means "calculation instrument". Each structure at the observatory has a specialized astronomical function. There are 14 structures in total, which measure time, predict eclipses, and track stars.





  • Albert Hall Museum

Albert Hall Museum is the oldest museum of the state and functions as the State museum of Rajasthan. It is also called the Government Central Museum and was opened as a public museum in 1887. It was modeled on the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Its collection includes portraits of local kings, costumes, woodcarvings, paintings, and arts and crafts.






  • Jah Mahal (meaning "Water Palace")

It is located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city. The palace and the lake around were renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber.
