Travel to Estepona, Spain

Located on the western side of Costa del Sol, Estepona is one of the prettiest Andalusian coastal towns, still undiscovered by many tourists who flock mainly to the more popular resorts like Marbella, Torremolinos and Fuengirola.

Estepona boasts 21 km of coastline with two Blue Flag beaches, a stylish marina, and a long promenade dotted with palm trees and many tapas bars and restaurants.

The most beautiful treasure of Estepona that will leave you mesmerized is the Old town ( Centro Historico ).

Cobbled little streets are lined with gorgeous whitewashed houses adorned with bright pot flowers. Anywhere you turn you will see a vivid palette of colors and lovely flowers.

Clean and tidy, quiet and serene, Estepona's Old town has a couple of small squares with cozy cafes where you can enjoy your meal while listening to the birds' songs. An ideal tranquil atmosphere that nowadays becomes highly sought after by many people trying to escape from their busy urban everyday life.

The main square in the Old town is Plaza de las Flores, a place where you can find a few restaurants and dine al fresco in the evening. A beautiful fountain is located in the center surrounded by flowers and shaded benches below the orange trees.

The main street in the Old town is Calle Real, which has a busier ambiance with many shops and dining venues.

Going out from the blissful Old town you can head to Estepona's main beach ( Rada beach ) that is just a short walk away. The large sandy beach rarely gets crowded so you can enjoy a nice time basking in the sun without being disturbed by the noise and presence of many others around.

The beautiful promenade (Paseo Marítimo) that stretches along the beach is the place where you can have your relaxing evening walk and dine.

Estepona is also popular with the Route of the Artistic Murals - a range of giant murals painted on the facades of buildings in several neighborhoods of the town.

You may also want to see the brand new Orchidarium or visit the Archeological museum in the Old Town.

The nearest airport to Estepona is Gibraltar Airport ( 45 km away ).

The upscale Puerto Banús is about 30 minutes' drive to the east.
